Benton A. Dean, age 83, of Mt. Pleasant, passed away on Sunday, March 25, 2018 at McLaren Central Michigan.  He was born February 19, 1935 in Toledo, Ohio, the son of Richard and Viola Heckart Dean.

Ben married Gwendolyn Hoag.  He was a lifetime resident of the Mt. Pleasant area.  Ben retired from the Isabella County Road Commission where he worked for more than 20 years.  Ben was a veteran of the US Army and was honorably discharged in 1958.  He had a great sense of humor, was a social person, and loved his coffee group.

Ben was preceded in death by his parents and beloved wife, Gwendolyn.  He leaves behind a step son, Tom Tanner of Mt. Pleasant, two brothers, Charlie and Barb Dean and Richard and Catherine Dean and many nieces and nephews.

A celebration of Ben’s life will be held at a later date with graveside services at Broomfield Township Cemetery.
